Tile Depot chosen as supplier for TV project

 

In the programme, families embark on home renovation projects with the help of TV builder, Tommy Walsh; but Tommy doesn’t do all the work for them - he’s there to advise, plan and supervise the families ‘fixing it themselves’ in order to slash costs by up to half.

 

The Cricklewood store of Tile Depot was chosen to supply its Mini Metro range of ceramic kitchen wall tiles for use as splashbacks in the brand new kitchen of Lee and Marie, a couple who were filmed for the programme tirelessly working on their 12 week project – a bathroom extension and a complete re-design of their living space including a new kitchen at their home in Kilburn, North London. By doing a lot of the work themselves, Lee and Marie saved a whopping £16,000 on the project.

 

Filming took place at the store in the middle of March and features Sales Advisor, Mani Brar, who advises Marie on the shop floor and serves her at the counter. Marie chose the Mini Metro range in White for the splashback area. She said: “The tiles are perfect, just the right size and I’ve got myself a bargain in the meantime, so that’s brilliant.”

The episode of ‘Tommy’s Fix It Yourself’ following Lee and Marie’s project is titled ‘Lighter Loo’ and is the last in the new series, which is being repeated in June on the Real Time channel and in July on Shed.
